Convenience store security system

Hi, my friend needs to put a security system in his convenience store, he wants to use a computer with a 300gb hard drive as main storage for a 5day work week. He wants to know how to connect 4 cameras to the computer and make them split on a screen (have all four images on the screen) and record them.

Any input is appreciated!

Thanks

You can connect many usb cameras up to one single computer and with the right software I believe you can have several cameras. I think this is possibly the cheapest way. If you buy half decent webcams and use the right software. I own this software http://www.webcamxp.com/ and it works wonderfully. There are many recording options and you can record sound as well... check it out.

Edit:

Oh yea almost forgot one of the coolest parts :). You can stream the video and audio so you can check whats going on anywhere in the world using the web.

o yea ive seen that. i was watching a show about this guy who owns a restaurant in ny but lives in los angeles and monitors the restaurant all day with cameras placed all around the restaurant. thats so cool

What would be the best software for recording, storing, and viewing the 4 cameras? Also can anyone suggest any cameras that would be appropriate for a convenience store.

The software I suggested does the recording. and the storing of files would be on a hardrive of your choice.
