Between VirtualDubMod and BeSweet (possibly with BeSweetGUI) you can do pretty much any audio ... might not be the easiest but very powerful and free

nero is not free, but it's the best program i have found for music
virtuosa is not free, but it does have a trial version of 30 days
as well as audio conversion studio. 30 day trial
they are all really good, but i personally prefer nero or virtuosa.
i just purchased nero over virtuosa because it can do a lot more then virtuosa can

Have a look at www.supportmycomputer.com they have a free software page which is very good. It has some ausio software on there. This might help fix your problem.
