Convert DVD to MP3 - Need Help!

Hey whats up? Can anyone advise how to take the audio from a DVD and rip it to MP3? Basically, this weekend i bought the Live 8 DVD set and want to rip the audio from it and put it on my ipod. Thanks!

There are probably easier ways, but I know when setting up an encoding job in Gordian Knot you select to just encode the audio as mp3, vbr mp3, or ogg.

Now that I think of it you can use DVD Decrypter (or another DVD ripper) to rip the VOB files, use DVD2AVI/DGIndex to strip the ac3 file, then transcode the ac3 to mp3 with some encoder (possibly Nandub). All free of course, don't pay for something that does that, there's plenty of free software.

rip the dvd to .avi, open in Vdub and save the audio track as a .wav then convert to mp3
