converter (video files) -Urgent

Hello, i really need to convert some video files, so that i can put them in windows movie maker. i tried changing the file extension (.mpg for example) and it does not work.
Any help please????

i believe there's a program called TMPGEnc, http://www.tmpgenc.net/, that converts video formats.

WHat format do you need to convert them in?
Try using a dvix converter or mpg converter.

i need to go into a mpg file, or something that windows movie maker suport....please, its really urgent.

Apparently this freeware program is supposed to work well (RAD Video Tools).

you just didn't look hard enough there's a tab at the top that says download
