Converting Internal Harddrive

It's not an enclosure; it's just a USB bridge. I'd suggest getting an actual enclosure.

Does your computer have an eSATA port on the back? If so, get an eSATA enclosure and you'll experience much faster transfer speeds than with USB. Even if you don't have an eSATA port you can get an eSATA bracket that plugs into a SATA port on the motherboard.

EDIT: That eBay listing doesn't include a power brick, which you'll need to power the drive. You're really better off getting an actual enclosure.

Thanks for reply mate; I dont want to use eSATA port as i will be using it on a few computers (some dont have an eSATA port).
I want to go the usb route.
Though im not sure what enclosure to choose.

Any SATA enclosure with a USB connection will be fine. I'd love to recommend a Rosewill enclosure, but it's a Newegg product.

If enclosure is too expensive,I would recommend you this:

It's very cheap and it supports 2.5 and 3.5 IDE and SATA hard disk drives to be connected to any USB port.I use this too and it's great.
You can also connect CD/DVD-ROM disk drives with it too.

Cheers!

To be honest im not bothered what it looks like i just want the performance to be good.
Would the enclosure effect the performance?

Who knows how long it will last is my point. A USB connection is a USB connection. You won't get any different performance from any other USB drive.
