Converting problems

i have a Creative Zen Vision M and when i try to put in some videos i have, it says that the file needs to be converted. It uses the software it came with. While its converting my comp freezes. I check the temps using speedfan my CPU gets up to 50C, NF4 chipset 53C ,and PWM 55C. would the temps be the problem?

Also can anyone recommend me a good .avi/.mp4/.m4v to DivX, XviD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4-SP, WMV9, or Motion-JPEG converter? found some on google but dont know whats good or bad.
is this good? http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=293898 ??
if i get that then all i'll need is a avi converter.

thx in advance :)

When the Creative programs locks it could be due to one of two things. The first would be the format of the file being converted if used by Apple/MAC while you are running MS Windows. Or you have an issue with the software that needs correction if not an update. One of several available video file conversion tools can be tried out at http://www.winmpg.com/ For a few others look over the links below.

You will have the some I have had at times trying to figure out which one is best.

i figured out it was becuase my temp was getting high. i converted some small files about 20mb and lower, one at a time and it didnt freeze. but when i tried to do more at one time it would freeze. Im getting some better cooling so i'll just wait till then to do the bigger files.

thx PC eye. ill try the first one
