Converting VHS to Digital Files.

Hi.

This is a (2) part question:

1.) Is there a way to convert VHS files to Digital ones, even if I no longer own a VCR?

2.) While copying is there a way to separate the content, WHILE it is being copied? I have some material of family members. Problem is, it's mixed in with some R and X-rated content that I wouldn't want them to see.

You would need a VCR (need some way to play the video) and a capture device that can take the output of the VCR and save as a digital file. Try searching with your favorite search engine for "VHS to digital converter".

You could capture only the parts you wanted to by stopping the capture and fast forwarding thru the unwanted content. You could also convert it all to a digital file and then use media editing software to do "post processing" to cut out the unwanted parts.
