Converting VHS to DVD? Price?

Two questions on the same forum. That's rare of me :rolleyes:

My brother calls me and says "I have a friend who has a few VHS tapes he'd like converted to DVD. Could you do it? He's only got 25 of them..."

:eek: So yeah, I think some $$$ is in order if I'm doing that many. Does anyone know the going rate is for such processing? Depending on the video, I might use a computer so I can render the videos, clip, etc etc. Or I may get lazy and simply use my DVD-Recorder directly. But whatever method, what would be a good price; perhaps per hour of video...

How many VHS? DVD+/-RW on your PC? Capture card usage?
 
I don't know the guy :P But yeah, I figured $5 per VHS would be very generous... Or more likely, $5 per 2 hours or so as some might be SLP :P (6 to 8 hours depending on the tape)
 
boy thats a good one. Always fast forward the tape and see how much is on there. But here in California. Two hrs of footage I charge 40 bucks, longer captures require addiotional DVD's. I burn on single layer 4.7GB. I picked up some DVD cases from the local computer store to put the finished product in too.

Really I just press a few buttons record and burn to DVD. Not that hard.:D

haha only 25! tapes but 150 hrs of footage!!

Can you put all of those to ONE DVD?

Well I probably COULD stick them on one DVD. As long as he doesn't care about quality ;P But I can usually get around 4 hours on a disk without too much quality loss...
 
off subject is that X2 4200 a socket 939? If so hows it run? I am planning on getting one here very shortly.
