Hey!

Not sure if this is the right spot for this Q but would anyone know what hardware I need to enable me to connect my VCR to my PC so I can upload to burn to DVD??? Any info relating to this would be appreciated dearly as I have never attempted it LOL :D:D

im not entirly sure on the copy rights on vhs so im going to say it may be illegal. the best thing i can tell you atm is google.com

not illegal as far as i know
only illegal if the media is then distrubuted

you need some form of capture card and software to record and encode. Never done it myself but the tech should be the same as converting home vids into dvds

I had to get the hi8 tapes of my camcorder to my pc to make a dvd. it uses the same AV connections as a VCR so this is what you do:
  1. Buy this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100120
  2. Install it, the drivers ar eon the CD.
  3. The software sucks, but it gets the job done
  4. hook up ur VCR
  5. and open up the (tv pvr) program or whatever
  6. and start to capture as u press play on your vcr!

It worked for me! BTW, don't expect quality.

Pinnacle works well. they bought out dazzle.
I friend had a 100 tapes. Family movies.
i suggested a duplicator. (dedicated). pop in
a tape and burns to dvd. you can get less than
$200. just walk away and pop in the next tape and dvd.
