Cooking a Computer

I have 4 USB ports on my computer there are two on each block. On one of these blocks there is a USB port that if anything is inserted into it the computer's overheating alarm will sound and automatically shut down my computer. I suspect this is a wiring problem but it seems strange that the other other port on the same block works perfectly well.

It strongly points to a miswired block. If you have the board's manual with the diagram and wiring info go over the block with a small magnifier to see if this is the actual problem. You most likely have a lead crossed to ground.
