Cool Gun for a Game

the OICW already has a grenade launcher well technically its a high explosive round.

Thats true but its a 20mm HE round with a flat trajectory. There are only two or three variations whereas the M203 fires 40mm parabolic grenades of which there are thousands of variations e.g HE, Tear gas, smoke etc. I figured if a gun had both you would be less limited as to your choice of ammunition on the battlefield.

If you thought the OICW was shit you'll bloody hate this.

Its called the AICW and its being developed by the Australians

I'm glad somebody likes it. To be honest i never thought it was going to look nice i just wanted to make a crazy ass futuristic gun. :D

ok u all need to learn about the gun
yes the gun is ugly but what it can do in real life is amazing
on the 1st pic *h-bomd's one*the bulk of it is a sort a nade launcher
i looks like a m203 round but its *i think*rocket propelled and u can program the round by buttond near the tigger and the "scope" is the monitor and u can have round blow up at like 500ft away in midair so u can get bunkers and shoot it in to a room and blow up evey on in the room

then the bottem part *the one with the front mag in it or the small as u guys like to say it holds 30 rounds* is ur assault rifle and the other mag holds the "nade"rounds

it is i good gun but they are still working out the bugs and i think that they are trying to get teh land warrior system to work with it

btw oicw means or stands for objective integrated combat weapon

Nice info but to clarify to others you were describing the OICW and not my gun cos i just drew it, it doesnt exist. BTW the HE rounds arent rocket propelled there just really big bullets (20mm) and are fired from a 6 round detachable box magazine (the big one at the back). The assualt rifle section fires 5.56mm NATO rounds from a 30 round detachable box magazine (the small one at the front) the M203 is the undermounted grenade launcher and fires single shot 40mm parabolic grenades. I know thats pretty much what you said but again i just want to clarify.

I thought you guys might like to see how u might look if you held an OICW.

Im not sure whether it makes this guy look badass or just stupid.

yeah i didnt know for sure so yeah
but its not a m203 but i fires that size of rounds cuz u can program the round like i said
and yes its ugly but it will be the best gun when they get it to work 100%
heres a link that will give some info
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OICW *i love that site*

and the reason u see diffrent looks for it is cuz those are prototypes so

That just looks completely inpractical. They size of it just strikes me as stupid, providing its an assault rifle with a "smart" grenade launcher.

And like wikipedia says
it has largely been a failure in terms of achieving the specific program goals (e.g. replacing M16) and has cost millions of dollars, but has resulted in many innovative weapons and weapon concepts as well as offshoot programs of its own.

TBH, i dont see the M16 and L85 being replaced as the main weapon anytime soon. Well, except maybe the XM8

Speaking of the L85 (SA80). Its due to be replaced in 2007 by the G36 as Britains main assualt rifle.

LOL, that guy looks like an action man.

Ive fired the airsoft equivalent of both (and a cusotm made sniper G36) and i prefer the L85. Of course, its not quite the real thing though.

the m4 for speacial ops will be replaced with the FN SCAR.
scar_l-1.jpg

i like it better than the M4
yeah the xm8 will replace the m16 and m4 very soon like 2008
maby not...
XM8 status update (September 2005): Following several complains about non-competitive procurement of the XM8 system from Heckler-Koch USA, US Army first opened the bidding for contract to other companies, and then, in the July 2005, suddenly suspended the entire OICW Increment 1 program to re-think the entire set of requirements for the possible replacement of current M16 rifles and M4 carbines. These requirements will be re-viewed as Joint Services effort. At the present time, it seems that development of HK XM8 is suspended; it may be resumed if XM8 suit the new US Joint Service Requirements for a new assault rifle system; or, it may not. We will watch this process closely and update this article when new information will be available.

If you look on that site (one of my favs for modern firearms) it also tells you that the XM8 is nothing more than a refurbished G36. It has the same mechanism and even shares some of the same components. H+K created the XM8 alongside the XM25 in an attempt to salvage the disappointment that was the XM29.
