Coolermaster has released their 80PLUS Gold certified Silent Pro Gold modular power supplies. All units have a large single rail, a large slow moving and quiet cooling fan, among other features.

Also...i know a few of you have been wondering what power supply i have been beta testing...and yes, this is it, the 800W model to be exact. The 800W has a nice large 65A single rail, cannot comment on other sizes as i have only tested the 800W model, and it is superb.

Do you know if it's going to be expensive?

You didn't answer me :(

what is your testing methodology?

I cannot make any comments as to how i tested the unit for coolermaster. Some features that are on the retail units may not me on the beta unit i have and vice versa, as i tested/am testing a prerelease unit, power circuitry however i believe is identical between the unit i have and the retail units, and it provides very good rail voltage stability, and produces a low amount of heat as it is 90% efficient, however I cannot comment on ac ripple as i no longer have a working oscilloscope.

Do you have an active load tester, or are you just stressing it from your rig?

Do you have a hotbox, or are you just going to be using it in a normal rig?

What are you using to measure the voltage?

What's its OEM?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm rather anal when it comes to my PSUs :p

-Testing was already completed a few months back, i just still have the unit in my possession. Testing was performed on my benching setup, open air with no case, thermally this unit does not concern me, as the fan moves plenty of air, and the heatsinks on the unit are large with a good amount of surface area. Loads were tested using both my rig as well as a carbon pile load tester(normally used to test lead acid automotive batteries).
-Voltage measurements were taken using a fluke 114, as well as an Instek GDM-8034.
-I cannot comment on OEM at this point in time.

Wow...that looks like a wonderful power supply. I am already planning my next build when I get back from Afghanistan...may take this and a Coolermaster case into consideration:D

Looks very impressive. What other wattages are they coming out with?

Oh and just out of curiosity, how did you end up beta testing one? Was it through a competition or you have a 'friend'? :P

Coolermaster does beta tests throughout the year that you can apply for on their website as they become available.

The article should say all the wattages that are available.
