Hey guys im new here and ive been reading on here and decided to Join (i will hopefully understand more about the computer than i do now (i have an ok knowledge)

So i go a question Since i cant afford a gaming case or Liquid Cooling i have to resort to the cheapest method. Case fans.

Now i want to know buy how much will case fans drop my CPU temp, and general case temps ie. will they help.

Also i need to know, the fan on the Intel chip (processer), does it blow outwards or inwards. Cause i got one fan housing (8cm) directly across the Heatsink and i dont know if i must make it an Exhaust/ Input fan (if the heatsink fan blows in toward the heatsink, then ill make it a input, if outwrds into the case, the an exhaust). My rear fan is 9,2cm.

Im thinking 2 input fans? And the excess air can go out the bottom vent

so what do you guys say?

I know that the Intel heat-sink fan sucks air in and blows it toward the CPU. I don't know how much case fans affect cpu temperature but I would take a stab in the dark and say that if you had a HVAC blower for a case fan it wouldn't do as much good as a good watercooling unit. If you are not going to overclock I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you have at least one fan your computer will survive.

P.S. I don't know a lot about case cooling so if any of the above information is wrong please let me know.
 
well the CPU fan direction helped.

Cause i think i will make 2 input fans.

Or must i make an output (9.2cm) and input (8cm opposite CPU)

or vice versa.
 
if you're not going to overclock than it's serious overkill.
front input and rear output is more than enough for you.
You can probably even survive with just a rear output fan.
 
Hey cool i get your drift. Another question that has been answeres with uncertainty.

Does the Stock 6400 CPU heatsink/Fan blow into the heatsink or out towards the case

EDIT: I got a case fan (8cm) and put it directly across the CPU heatsink/ fan. Now as an exhause fan my CPU temp is 65*. As an Input fan my temp is 57*

But before, i had a tube that went up to the CPU fan. Now i put that on my fan and temps have gone down to 51*.

So i guess thats how the CPU fan cools. Blowing onto the Heatsink.

But i am still scared that is not how it cools and i will mess up my comp

a cpu temp of 51 is not uncommon, tough a little bit hot for a stock 6400.
you could take of the hsf and reapply the thermal paste and reseat the hsf to see if it has any impact.

and if you're that concerned about your cpu overheating. by standard your computer will shut down if your cpu gets above a certain temp
this is set in your bios and if you haven't changed it. you won't damage any parts of your pc.

Im using a program called Sensorview.

But i dont think its accurate.

Can someone tell me how to get the T-utility hardware monitor for my Mobo. Maybe that will give me a more accurate view.

But i still gotta get a Rear input/ output (ill see what works best) Well see some temps then
 
More case fans are always good. You could get a simple fan controller to get the best control over your fans and work out your best cooling/noise ratio.
The important thing is to have as close to equal cool air being drawn into the case as warm air being blown out. It's also wise to remember that hot air rises, so it'll usually be more useful if you place extraction fans higher up, and intake fans lower down on the case. Obviously this is not always possible but it is a good rule to go by.
 
thats the prob with my standard case. I got 2 fan housings. One 9.2cm at rear and and 8 cm that is blowing directly on my CPU heatsink/fan (dropped temps to 51.)

Other temps: standard 67,
blowing out case 65,
blowing in 57,
blowing with air tube 51

so i have foung the way to cool the hottest component of my comp (by 16*)

Now since that 8cm fan blows only on my CPU heatsink/fan (doesnt do anything else, but case temp dropped as the CPU temp dropped).
should i make the rear fan input/output.
Im thinking input as that got better effects with my 8cm (without tube)

I got a vent bulowm my 8cm that can vent out the air but yeah..

so what do you think?

I might have another option (getting a cheap case) Costs like $80 - $100
a Coolermaster 690. Anyone got pics. is it good?
