Cooling for 4770k ?

Looking to get some better cooling for my new 4770k rig, at the moment i put the stock cooler on to see how it would be and was terrible.

The cpu comes out the box at 3.5ghz and has a 3.9ghz turbo mode, I actually had to clock the cpu back to 3.0ghz as with the stock cooler i was getting temps of 50c at 3.5ghz box speed.

I had corsair h60 in my last system and it was good, however i am wondering if i should go same route again or go for a good air cooler ?

You think so jason my i3 2100 idled at about 30c on stock cooler, I think i am leaning toward another water cooling unit, I know the corsair was good but do you know anything about, antec or zalman coolers they are a lot cheaper.

depends on ambient temp.

50 is fine

I think the i3s do run a little cooler but whenever I've used an Intel quad-core on the stock cooler I've been idling at about 45-50C.

Do you want to overclock? If not just grab something like the Freezer 7 or 13 from Arctic. I've got the Freezer 13 on my 2500K which is overclocked to 4.3GHz and it's not bad at all considering I paid something like £17 for it.

If you do want to overclock, then the all in one water coolers would be good. Not used one personally but I think the Antec Kuhlers are meant to be good.
