Cooling questions.

I have been kicking around the idea of installing a couple fans to help out with system cooling. I have a couple questions about doing so.
I have a stock Dell Dimension case, so I’m not completely sure if there are any additional areas in the case where I could install fans? The case is pretty enclosed, so even if I could install 1-2 additional fans, would it help out with cooling?. Has anyone ever installed a dell mobo in a custom case? I was thinking about buying a new case, which would help out with my cooling upgrade and power upgrade.
I do not want to spend a ton of money on cooling, but I would like to improve it.
Any suggestions are welcome!

well, installing a few fans can help. depending on how you will install them 9in which direction). Try not to have a fan here and there, try making a nice curent in the PC (perhaps from right to left)
if you wish, you can post a picture of your PC (with hte side panel off) and we can hel pyou desing a new interior for fans.

If fitting more fans is a problem you could always purchase higher CFM fans to replace the existing ones.

Another option is to add a PCI fan to provide additional cooling around the gpu area though they may not be terribly effective.

you can't get a new case as Dell uses special motherboards that's only compatible with their cases. So you can either get higher powered fans (which will make your computer louder), drill your own fan holes and mount fans (a bit of modding) or you can do what vaiopup said, get PCI fans.

I have 8-10 fans running in my machine, running at about an average of 60CFM. Keeps my machine nice and cool, but as far as the noise goes. It is a little loud, but I can deal with it. I've actually gotten used to it, and my room is very eerie and too quiet when my computer isn't on (since it's usually running 24/7).

well, 60CFM is a nice fan!
Perhaps you might want to put your fans less loud with speedfan (if they are pluged into your MOBO)

Sacrinyello5, want thing to look for, is a low dB. dB is for the noise of the fan. DO NOT BUY A FAN WITH OVER 30 dB, it would be much to loud.
