cooling suggestions with "stock" HP case

Hello ladies and gents,
Well the title almost says it all...someone recently brought my attention to a great program called speed fan. After viewing temps for some time now ive decided that i would like to decrease them. Below provided is a link to the computer case in question.

does anyone have any suggestions?
I feel that its the airflow that seems to need aid...an "intake" in the front i feel would do the best but seems sorta impossible.
I'm sorry if this seems a bit open ended im just looking for some suggestions

*note: i have purchased a new power supply that has a second fan that will hopefully aid too.

drop it into a new case?

truth be told, the case itself doesn't make nearly as much difference as the efficiency of the heatsinks themselves
 
I'm a little iffy with removing the heatsink b/c i dont want to really mess with the "pad" or paste" (maybe in the near future) but i have removed the fan before to clean out the dust (suggestion from ppl to bring down temps)

It appears the fan on top of the heatsink is pretty cheap...can i replace this with a better one easily???

EDIT: (sorry i was writing this when that was posted) ....Anyone know where i can get a new BETTER fan?
 
Seriously, if you want to reduce temps, there is nothing that will do it by so much so quickly as to buy a good replacement heatsink. Getting more fans and such may reduce it by a couple of degrees, but a good heat sink can reduce it by 10-20 degrees or more.
 
ok so i gotta man up and just do this then...any suggestions on cheap (not like POS) but quality heatsink fan combos?

(and yes ill combine this with artic paste as it seems that is the best around)
 
Do you have a socket 775 or 498? Either way, it would be best just to check Newegg and find one with good reviews.
 
i have a 478 socket..im assuming that is what you meant...

Make sure you purchase a small heatsink, as no larger ones would fit in that case. Also, replace the stock fans with some high RPM ones, that'll get some fresh air into your case.
 
is the one posted by "jlcollins005" considered small?
any suggestions for a cheap quality 120mm exhaust fan?
 
The first one was better... I've learned to trust people's reviews on Newegg... if a high percentage of people like it, you probably will too.
