Cooling temp question...

Hi guys im just wonderin if the temp 40-45 Degree Celsius is normal for CPU, and 25-30 for the HDD and 20-23 for the case ?

Amd athlon 3000+ 2.0 Ghz.
ECS 755 motherboard
SATA 250G HD

Yeah, those temps are perfectly fine. The cpu is a little warm, but fine, as well as the rest of your temps. If you want cool your cpu even more you can invest in a heatpipe, something like the ones thermalright make are real nice.
 
ya, i to think thats hot for a amd.
to prolong life, invest in a nice heatpipe and try to keep cirrculatiom high in the case.

just opened that link.
it should be lower i think. i have alot more powerfull stuff and i get an easy 28c.
maybe you need new thermal paste?
or is his cpu just naturally hotter?

sorry im new to computer scene wut do u mean by thermal paste ?
and up to how much i can overclock my CPU its stock rite now 2.0Ghz.

the temp guage i got has a wire that goes directly between cpu fan and cpu its like a sandwich in the middle i stick the wire rite into the cpu. and its connected to the digital temp guage... theres 3 thin wires one goes to CPU, then the other to HD, and the last one goes to the case wall.
 
Your not supposed to put the wire between the cpu and heatsink, it "disrupts" the flow of heat and can cause the temp to rise, which may explain it.
 
yes, thats all wrong. put it on the side kinda.
and you need thermal paste or you will uber overheat.

my guess is move the wire, put new thermal paste on it, and try that.
if it didnt go down much. get a nice heatsink and make sure you have enough case fans.
then try it

its noy actually a wire its kinda like those flat thing u see on the motherboard like a very very thin kinda brown too.. and i just followed the instruction how to put em on. its kinda wire that they use on flip phone to connect the LCD into dial pads ill take some pic later when i get home after work.. its a very very thin and it has kinda plastic covered in to..

fans:
1 4"on power supply built in (suck out)
2 3" behind the box (suck in)
2 small ones underneath the HD
1 4" in front of the case bottom of the floppr (suck in)
1 rite on the CPU
1 3" on the side cover (suck in)

Yea i know what you mean, i just used the wrong word. Either way, its not supposed to be there.

actually if the computer is on with no windows open just desktop its 28-31 celsius but if im playing counter strike its 40-43. is it normal ?
 
Mid 40's is fine for an Athlon XP based system, especially as a load temp. You don't want to load past 60C. If you're idlind in the high 20's/low 30's and loading in the mid(or even high) 40's that's normal.
