I am having a problem with CoPilot. I turn context clues off but when I check again next time, it has turned on again by itself. Context clues, for those who might not know, gives CoPilot permission to view your screen. It is supposed to stay off unless you give it permission to turn on again. Is it spying on me, CoPilot says that it is not. What can be done about this? CoPilot says that it must be a "glitch" in the system that is causing this.
 
It's probably set to start when you start windows. It ususally is set that way by default. Open task manager, click on startup tab and see if copilot is set to run at bootup. If so, disable it.
 
I checked but copilot isn't set to run at bootup but it is still persisting to turn context clues back on again. Should I just ignore it? Can copilot still spy on me even when I don't click on it to open it?
 
Are you using the website, or the application?

If the application, then try disabling it via Registry:

Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows.
Create a new key named WindowsCopilot.
Inside WindowsCopilot, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value named TurnOffWindowsCopilot and set its value to 1.
Restart your system.
 
Supposedly there is a setting within Microsoft Edge to turn it off, but I don't see it (most likely due to my company managing it).

  1. Click the More menu (three dots) in the Edge sidebar.
  2. Go to Settings > Privacy.
  3. Toggle off the Context clues setting to stop it from reading your current page
For number 3, make sure there is an option to do all sites, and not just the webpage you are on.

Yes, I have already tried to do this but it said, that if I do this, that I would lose all my stored passwords, which I don't want to happen
 
I am not sure why it would affect passwords, that is a separate piece. The section that would do that is if you are clearing cache, etc. Can you do a screenshot?

The icon doesn't bother me , I just wanted to turn off the context clues and don't know why it turns back on again by itself. CoPilot says that it could be a glitch in the system? How would I hide the icon and would that prevent context clues from turning on? Also what if I want to use copilot , how would I do so without the icon to click on?
