hey guys im looking for a like a thin Copper plate to add to the bottom of the one of the heatsinks on the 360 anyone have any ideas like where i could get one

Most metal supply companies can get you copper, like Admiral Metals

But how are you going to bond the copper the mating surface of the heat-sink?l Also, how are you going to keep the proper gap between the heat-sink and the processor once you've fastened the heatsink to the MB cpu mount?

There are lots more questions on my mind but those are the main ones.

You could also check-out this thread that JareeB started and quite a few members have commented on. Bomberboysk added a good post to the thread telling where he gets his metal: http://www.computerforum.com/177019-copper.html?highlight=copper

Not sure why you are planning to use a piece of copper on the heatsink...

However, the mating problem can be solved with something such as artic silver thermal adhesive, a thermal two part epoxy of sorts.

What sort of thickness are you looking for? Are you looking for something thin like a copper foil, or thicker like a type of copper plate? The biggest question i have though...is Why? If you are looking to improve the thermal properties...your just gonna hinder them, as you are increasing the amount of material for the thermal energy to transfer through.

nah ive talked to a few people and adding a piece of copper to the bottom of the gpu heatsink helps, and it helps in fixing the RROD which is what im doin i was also looking for a dif heatsink my buddies have had some luck with some server type heatsinks

Have you thought of water cooling it? Its what I'm gonna do as soon as I get a 360: Koolance - DIY water cooling kit

And it means that you can just get rid of all that stupid plastic ducting microsoft stuck inside. And with the water cooling, the heat will be completely removed from inside the case.

Koolance kit stuff is a waste, if anything i would get the XSPC combo block, and a decent rad+pump. Even a simple dual rad like an XSPC rs240 coupled with some cheap fans would be plenty sufficient for an xbox 360.
