Copyright Issue

I have a website and I want to put a couple of videos on it such as from youtube, metacafe, etc. Are there copyright issues abd problems that I could be facing if I do.

As far as I know you can do it 100% legal. That is why Youtube has the URL and embedded codes that go along with each video. When you load a video on Youtube....you know that your video can be used anywhere.

I am almost 100% positive it is perfectly legal.

Ok, but what if its like music videos or something from that category.
I don't think having music videos on YouTube is legal unless you have permission from the record company, but people do it anyways. Embedding a YouTube video on your website, even if it's illegal probably won't be a big deal since it's probably not a huge website.

Just remember that if the video is copywritten and the holder of the copyright asks/tells you to remove it..you still need to comply.

You can't do it if you try to make any money from your site:
"You agree not to use the Website, including the YouTube Embeddable Player for any commercial use, without the prior written authorization of YouTube."

I cant see anything been wrong with doing that,Afterall its not like your downloading the material off Youtube and then uploading it onto your site....your basicly just linking it from youtube so..

Here is your answer:

That leaves contributory infringement. If you link to a video that you know is infringing, or that any reasonable person would have known is infringing, and if your link materially contributes to the infringement, then you could be liable for contributory infringement -- a kind of "aiding and abetting" liability. -EFF Article

So therefore since you are linking to content that is infringing copyright material, it could be considered contributory infringement.
