Core 2 Duo 6300 1.86 or pentium d 2.8 ghz?

hi im looking two upgrade my cpu and i wonderd will the Core 2 Duo 6300 1.86ghz have a good performance upgrade to my pentium d 2.8ghz?or i have also seen this Core 2 DUO E4500 2.2 GHz can anybody recommend ?im looking for a cpu thats gona last with out keep upgrading

can anybody also give me the best prosessors in the core 2 duo range thanks it will be goin with ddr2 667mhz hd3850 etc

Thats a very fast Dual core,most can be overclocked to 3.8-4ghz as long as you have decent mobo/ram.

Brand new theyre £135...It will run rings around any E6300.

If its too much,lemme know and il have a look what else you can get for under £80,but it wont be as fast as the E8400 :)

- 65nm technology
- L2 cache = 2MB
- Clock speed = 1.86GHZ
- Front Side Bus = 1066

E4500
- 65nm technology
- L2 cache = 2MB
- Clock speed = 2.20GHZ
- Front Side Bus = 800

thanyou Nevakonaza will that do me for gaming? it will go along side 2 gb ddr2 667hhz and a hd3850 windows 7 pro. i need it to last me aleast a year without having to upgrade

The CPU should hold out until next year....its quite a a powerfull Dual core even at stock.....overclocking it just unleashes a monster :D

I dunno about your graphics though,should be okay....but dont expect high settings in new games such as BC2 or something like GTA IV.
