The core 2 duo e6300 only has 1.86 ghz. Is this slow because some games reccomend more 2+ghz for play. The Pentium D 915 has 2.8 ghz so seems the better option

please help!

GHZ means nothing now

a E6300 1.86GHZ could kick the crap out a pentium d 3.8 ghz over and over

get the C2D you will like it

Dude, isn't this like the third post you ask about a processor speed.

The names are realitive to the processor's speed. MHz and GHz DO still have meaning, but should not be compared between different processors. You really shouldn't compare say a Sempron 1.6GHz to a Core 2 1.6Ghz :P

This isn't the first time GHz had no real meaning. If you look back at the original K6-2 processors, they were meant to be about the same speed as a Pentium 2. However, I once benchmarked an AMD K6-2 550MHz and it was slower than a Pentium II 350MHz

change ur picture now that is just sick

If you are not going to help, DO NOT POST. That is a matter to discuss in a PM.

Like every other thread you posted, you would think that you could figure out that ghz DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING.

As others have said, Ghz isnt everything that determines how well a processor performs.

Simply put, the Core 2 Duo uses a more advanced architecture which allows it to perform operations quickly, while running at slower clock speeds.
