Is the E7400 VS Q8200, the E7400(2.8) is worth 120.00 and the Q8200(2.3) is worth 170.00 is it worth the $50, to get the quad instead of the duo? I'm deciding right now so i just need a quick answer, thank you.

The quad is more "future proof" and will handle CPU intensive tasks better (if the task can utilize all four cores). What are you planning on using the computer for?

Some say games work better on duals. This may be the case right now (its a rough debate) but I imagine it wont be long until the quads overtake them.

Go quad.

How about Dual Quad's?

There's a mind bender for ya.

Haven't done much research on it but I think there may be a few software related issues in the form of compatibility only a thought though

How much more is it?

(tbh never heard of them)

whether to get duo or quad, that really depend on what you're using the com for. if it's just normal usage, i'd say duo but if you're doing intensive stuff , then go for quad. as for gaming, its still very debatable. games are slowing taking advantage of 4 cores, most notably GTA 4.

I ended up with the duo.... :D... I realized i'm going to game ALOT, but also download alot of music... so i don't REALLY need a quad, so i went with the duo E7400

Going dual-core when quad core is a choice, in today's day'n'age is a mistake IMO, games are taking advantage of the 4 cores now also.
