Core i5 650M?

hello,

I was looking at Inspirons in the dell outlet and noticed all the ones with Core i5 650 processors had the processor labeled "Core i5 650M." I googled this, but nothing turned up.

Does anyone know what the "M" stands for?

I wouldn't go with any of the i5 6xx processors either as they are dual core, you may as well just go for an i3, the performance difference isn't that great. The i5 7xx processors are true quad cores

We're talking mobile, here, I think. However, there are no 6xx mobile i5 processors...only 5xx. Their 6xx models are i7's, so I'm a bit confused. Regardless, all mobile i5 processors are dual core, as well as all i7 6xx processors. (There are 640 and 660 mobile i7's...no 650 here either. Wut?)

The only quad core mobile Intel processors are the 7xx, 8xx, and 9xx ones, which all end in either QM or XM.

edit: There's also some mobile Sandy Bridge i7 quads, with model numbers ending in QM, QE, and XM.

If this is on a Desktop, who knows...it's probably something Dell-specific. As far as I know, there are no desktop processors with a model number ending in "M".
