Core i7 for $1000

i almost get sad everytime i see the whole 8GB of RAM thing. if you need any more than 4GB or what your doing than perhaps you need to decide whether using your computer for evil ends is an option. Hell ive got 1GB and i edit music and multitask like a beast. i reason 4 and pro tools at the sametime and i still play games and use winamp. to each their own but id say cut own on your RAM to make the budget work for that build.

Im not quite sure your running the programs i am. I have a bran new prebuilt with 4 gb of ram and when i run sony vegas and after affects at the same time it is slow. If i add msn, aim, and i tunes it doesnt help. I base my decision on the amount of ram i want on my experience. I also base it on the sayin go big or go home.

also with a i7 setup, it is tri-channel. you need at least 3 memory sticks of 1gb each, so any i7 system will have 3gb's at the lowest. and since memory is so cheap right now, you might as well get 3 2gb sticks so a total of 6gbs. you can easily get that for under $100 total. i like the 1200 case, i too am building a computer, and i just ordered that case. the extra $25 is well worth it. i am going with the ASUS motherboard, that is about the only difference in my build. i love their motherboards and newegg gave them great reviews. only about 40-50 bucks more expensive

id like to get the 1200 but space and money is an issue. i sold my parts for my car so now thats what the money is going towards

The 902 is a great case, its basically the same as a twelve hundred but about 5" or so shorter, and has one less 120mm fan and 3 less 5.25"(front cd rom/dvd/etc) drive bays.
