Hey Guys. After installing my Core i7 920 stock heatsink/fan, I noticed after a couple of days, that it had popped out of a couple of holes on the motherboard. This is my first build, so I'm sure I didn't secure it properly in the first place. I took the heatsink/fan unit completely off, and re-installed the unit correctly this time. My question is should I have removed the thermal compound, and replaced it with new? I took a good look at it before I re-installed it, and it looked fine to me, but like I said it's my first build. The Processor and Heatsink are brand new, and the thermal paste was only on for a couple of days. If anyone could shed some light, I'd really appreciate it.
