So ive finally got my CoolIT Eco cooler installed, and set up a Push/Pull on the Rad...these are the temps im getting idle,I know theyre okay temps but is it wierd that core 0 & core 2 are hotter always than the other two?

on my Q6600 it was always Core 0 that was a bit hotter and Core 1,2&3 were about the same(give or take 1 or 2c)...maybe its nothing and its okay,Just worth checking though.

I was expecting better temps from this cooler,It still cant beat my old Tuniq Tower with 21c idle temps and that was on a 65nm Q6600 at 3.5Ghz ,But i had no choice to give it up :/

That is normal. My old q6600 was like that. It could be because the paste is not spread out evenly and not making good contact on those cores.

Even though your Tuniq Tower kept your q6600 at 21c at idle does not mean it would keep your i7 860 that low. Those are still some pretty decent temps.

Well i always spread out the thermal paste on my Cpu.

Theres been some improvement on the temps anyway.

Mine do the same really. When I 100% load my quad I get 55-55-50-50 so it seems to even out. Doesn't seem to matter how I spread my AS5 it is always similar results.

wait a few days for the paste to set...you may see some improvements, but honestly unless its overheating, i wouldnt lose sleep over it.

You can also consider lapping your cpu to improve matters.

That is a painfully slow and risky for a first timer though. I mean for a good lap job its 6-7 hours. Reason I will just pay Bomber to do it if I ever decide to in the future :P He should practice on a old CPU first just so he knows what to look for and to avoid ^-^
