Corrupt file

When i try to change the settings in Photoshop CS3 a balloon pops up and says The file or directory WINDOWS\Prefetch\DWWIN.EXE-30875ADC.pf is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility. I run the Chkdsk utility and try to edit the settings again, but the same thing happens. What do I do? I have Windows XP service pack 3.

The prefetch folder is used to help speed up the loading of programs, delete the file DWWIN.EXE-30875ADC from the Windows/prefetch folder and reboot. Eventually it will get replaced again.

Some schools of thought recommend deleting all prefetch files and starting afresh but I did this once and noticed a slowdown in loading until it populated again.
