Corrupted hard drive

I have a corrupted external hard drive that has a bunch of pictures on it. I tried some free software and it showed up but it said 0 GB and I couldn't do anything with it. I was using this when it got corrupted.

It is a seagate barracuda 40 GB harddrive.
Does anyone know how to get the infromation off of it. Thanks.

Can you tell if the drive is spinning or not ? I recently had a drive get corrupt and it turned out it was not spinning.

Gunmonkeys...listen to Jasonn20.Check if your HDD is spinning in the first place.If it does then try to get informations from it using the Linux Ubuntu 9.04 operating system.
