Corrupted sectors, options?

I've got a hard drive that is still functional and can load a Windows 7 OS fine but there are some sectors that are corrupted. I want to ghost the OS partition to another disk but Clonezilla fails at the bad sectors. Is there any kind of workaround for this? Or maybe something to repair the corrupted sectors?

It's best not to clone a damaged disk. What brand of hard drive is it? If Seagate you can run Seatools to scan the drive or if its Western Digital you can use Data lifeguard diagnostics.

It's WD. Can that tool do anything though besides provide me information?

About the only thing it will do is mark the bad sectors as unusable. But once a drive starts getting bad sectors more will follow so the best thing to do would be to get a new drive, install windows fresh and then transfer your data to the new drive.

So ghosting isn't really a possible option, is it?

Not really. I mean you can try cloning once the Western digital software has ran see what it did if anything. But I'm not guaranteeing anything. Personally if it was me, I would buy a new drive and install windows fresh and then copy data over. You will get best performance that way anyway. Really don't want to be cloning a damaged disk.

Can the WD software be installed directly onto the drive that has the corrupted sectors? Or do I need to install it onto a different Windows OS?

Thanks a lot for helping me out, by the way.
