Corsair 400W PSU - 29.99 A/R

I have that exact one for about a month now powers the system in my sig with no problems. I was worried about it not powering my 4850 but it doesn't have a problem. It is the perfect PSU for low end systems like mine don't try to throw a 4890 or GTX 275 on there but for anything else it would work fine. Beware the cable are long about 2 feet probably more and the sleeving although it looks good give extra girth to the cables and make cable management that much harder. For the price you can't go wrong.

Heh, i wouldnt recommend a 4850 with a higher end system, it will power it, but if you were to go quad or whatnot it could pose a problem.

Yea I have already thought of that the good thing is I'm getting pretty close to my target of $2500 for my next build I will probably take my 4850 with me and crossfire another might even get a quad crossfire board and get another 3 of them lol mind well just buy a 4890. Any ways do you think it will be ok to add some fans and new RAM I have been wording exactly how much stress is already on the PSU and if it can handle anything else.

It said right now 284w and after adding fans, RAM, and a cathode is says 311w I wonder how accurate it is. Just for fun I put my CPU at a Phenom II X4 955 with 4 stick of DDR2 with everything else the same and it only says 343w. I'm sure this is not accurate is it.

Sweet link.

Can I rely on that. I pluged in my Setup with an upgraded video card < 4890 > and it only said I needed 328 Watts. Thinking my 650 Watt PSU feels like an overkill now:confused:.

Guess I'll have to overclock my PC before I upgrade then..
The way i use it, is the wattage it gives, check that you have at least that much wattage over your +12v rails. Its always best to have at least 50W and possibly 100W overhead on your 12v rails for capacitor aging.

Cooler Master does not make that good of a PSU and there would be no reason why someone would get the cooler master over the corsair.
Coolermaster makes good power supply units, BUT only if you get a higher quality/higher priced one. The cheap ones arent very good.

Yes the the higher end models are pretty good but the cheap ones isn't that great still better then a rosewill.

yea, i had some cooler master (real power or extreme power or something), it was a 500W. It was extremely loud.
