corsair dominator on xfx 780i

Hello all,

i built my computer about a year ago, and i have bought 4gb (2X2gb) 1066mhz of corsair dominator ram, but i have only been running on 1 stick, when i put the second stick in and boot up, it will either beep or get to winsows loading screen and reset.

i suspect the reason is because i havnt touched the bios settings apart from updating it, i dont want to fiddle with it if i break it, so i need some peoples oppinions that actually know what they are doing.

so basically, what should i change my settings to so that i can run both sticks at 1066mhz???

You shouldn't be having any problems with voltages with only running 2 sticks. Either you have a bad stick of memory or a bad memory slot. Try different memory to see if does the same thing.
 
turns out i have both, :( 1 broken stick and 1 broken slot, i dont suppose there is ways of fixing them is there???
 
it does nothing 1 slot doesnt register that theres memory in it, and the stick just makes my mobo beep at me and will not start up.
 
You have 4 ram slots so you can actually use the other 2 slots. Or if the motherboard is under warranty then get it rma'd.
