Corsair TX750!!!

I just got this PSU.

It looks awesome, feels good, and got enought wires for everything.

Gonna get my GTX 285 soon to test it...

Only thing I dont like is that it blows INTO the case, rather than OUT.

And it has a clear plastic window thing under the fan. should that be there?
 
i have the same psu and its really good, will prob outlast my rig in terms of upgrading!

dont know what clear plastic thing you on about though
 
look inside the PSU.

I see a plastic cover over the components. Im scared it will melt, but I cant open my PSU as it will void my warrany...

What about the fact that it blows in the case, and not out. I prefer it when its out...
 
I read this on a review...


A clear plastic deflector blocks about half of the fan—I assume this is done to force all airflow to the front of the PSU where positive pressure will force it through the heatsinks and components on its way out the rear. Without it, a fair bit of air towards the rear would probably escape directly out the back without being put to good use. I’d expect the deflection of airflow in this manner to increase noise and put some added stress on the fan motor. This is an interesting design consideration that I’m not totally sure is positive. The VX550 has this same plastic deflector. Surely, it is easier and less expensive to just build the PSU without this deflector so it must be there for a reason. I’m sure the experts at Corsair and CWT have deemed it a necessary or beneficial addition.

So I guess thats supposed to be there. But does your PSU shoot air out the back, or into your case. Cause mine pushes air into the case, which is slightly weird...

the review says its to force air out the back, yet My PSY has the FAN pushing air into the case.

Please guys, is this normal, or should I send it back?

i would have a look at mine but it would mean taking apart my liquid cooling system, to tell you the truth i didnt even look that close at it lol.
 
cant you just check if it blows air out the back? no need to ake apart your WC setup...

Cause that how I know a PSU to be, yet this is different, and Im scared they installed the fan wrong, and now there might be problems...

hey to tell you the truth, there is no blowing out the back it seams like the air is getting sucked from outside and blown in the case.

but its not an extreme amount, if i hold a piece of paper to the grill at the back it neither pushes nor pulls it :eek:
 
I read some post on othere forums, and on the anandtech review, and it stated it should be an EXHAUST...

Ill email corsair to find out...

Cause almost all (actually all) PSUs that i know of are exhaust...
 
Im very worried.

I want my PSU to be an exhaust, as it will run cooler. Now its blowing hot air INTO my case. Reviews say its exhaust.

Also, as I want more exhaust fans than intake, as that create negative pressure.

so for me its a big deal.

I posted on the Corsair forums, well wait to see the reaplies...

Also, i see that my PSU is hot, toward the back (heatsinks)

What worries me most is that my PSU is on the bottom. So the back will suck in all the dust, and just throw it into my case, and cover the internals of the PSU...

I found out what its supposed to be.

Its supposed to be an exhaust fan.

so my PSU is setup wrong.

anybody else have the same problem?

Ram Guy is the person Corsair entrusts, so he knows his stuff...

If he says its exhaust, it should be exhaust.
 
What kind of case exhaust fans do you have? Most P/S fans dont really pull that much air. I,ve seen cases with 2 120 exhaust fans that would pull so much air that they would completly overpower the P/S exhaust fan.
 
right now, ive got one intake, one exhaust.

Im going to get new fans this week.

the PSU makes that 2 intakes...

Ive tried it with the side panel off, so that its not a closed enviroment, therefore not affecting the push/pull effect.

So guys with a TX750, can you please check if its an intake fan, or an exhaust fan.

Cause then I gotta get my PSU replaced...
 
The fan should suck air in and blow it out the back of the unit, however at slower speeds you might get air that will reflect off of the top of the PSU and come back out the bottom. The plastic piece is there to help guide the air through the unit. If it looks like the units fan is blowing air in the wrong direction, then we would want to get it replaced.

It is probably most convenient to replace the unit through your reseller, however if they can not help you, then we can certainly replace it for you. Please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”http://www.corsair.com/warranty/rma_form.aspx

I mean, whats the point stating 3 times in a row, in a 30 minute interval that you think something is wrong? its not like people are on this forum 24/7, and if you really are that worried, you would have turned your pc off already, or did send a mail to corsair.

Lol, you sound exactly like RAM GUY.

Im going to send it to my reseller/dealer. He will send it to his supplier, and if they find that its blowing the wrong way, they will replace it...

As Im in South Africa, Sending it to the US is out of the question. Costs too much, and takes WAY too long...

I emailed them. They said take it to my dealer/seller.

I e-mailed my seller, and he says they will take it, test if its blowing the wrong way, and then if it is (which it is), replace it.

Sorry for the multiple posts. I really am worried, as my dad will kill me ("You spent soo much on a PSU and it has to be returned???!!! He will kill me)
 
I just put a paper in front of the fan, and, the paper gets sucked in...

kinda weind, cause it feels like its getiing blown out...

Im still sceptical though, cause I cant feel much air coming out the back... In fact, I dont feel any at all. but when I put the paper there, it blows it away...

weird.

so is it supposed to be soft, or what?

Can anyone with a TX750 check for me.
