Right now my ram is running at 928Mhz with cpu clocked at 3.26Ghz, safe? I was going to clock it up to about 3.3ish but im not sure if the ram can handle what ever it gets?
 
try touching the ram and see how hot it is. you might need cooling for it or the silicons will melt eventually :)

Yeah thats what i was thinking, i took it back down to 3.12 so the memory is at 888mhz....i think that will be fine, right? otherwise i would have to go decreasing the multiplier and increasing the htt...too complicating :D
 
You should raise the voltage on the RAM if your going to keep it that high, or raise the timings a bit more. I would run Orthos and see if the RAM is actually stable.
 
Thanks, at 888Mhz i ran orthos for a few minutes perfectly stable....i might try it at 928 sometime but im too lazy right now :P
 
If the BIOS says the timings are different to what they should be, at default, is this a problem. Is there any benefit to having them at the default, I think my default is 4-4-4-12, is that good? But I don't know if they are at that in the BIOS.
 
Default means they are set to whatever is programmed in the SPD chip. CPUz can read them as can everest I think and some other utilities can tell you whats in it as well.
 
I mean, if they aren't set to the recomended defaults, is this a problem, are they faster at the defaults that are recomended or something?
 
Sometimes with high performance modules the SPD timings are slower than the advertised timings when you buy the RAM. So with 4-4-4 DDR2-800 they are usually set to 5-5-5 by SPD and you have to explicitly set them to 4-4-4 and bump the voltage in the BIOS.
 
On the reviews on the set i got, everyone was saying that their motherboard set it default at 5-5-5-15, but i didnt buy the 4-4-4-12 set so yours is probably correct.
 
You should be able to get in the upper DDR2-900s or lower DDR2-1000s. Just don't go much past 2.1V.
 
4-4-4-12 will run at 800mhz it may and may not run on your oc'ed speed unless you change the timing. i didn't need to change the timing when i did mines.

Those timings are high for 667, you can easily change those manually.

It says 4-4-4-12 because thats what it would run at if you had it at DDR2-533, and 5-5-5-15 at DDR2-667.

You and I have similar RAM, and I had mine at 4-4-4-9 @ DDR2-800 @ 2.1V, i'm sure you could set yours the same.
 
I don't know if your RAM will run at 800MHz, there's realyl only 1 way to find out. The RAM is advertised at 4-4-4-12 @ 667 (you can tell by the corsair part # CM2X1024-5300C4, the C4 means CAS4) and probably at 1.9V but you'd have to look it up to be sure of the voltage. The SPD is programmed to run it at the JEDEC standard for the given speeds.
