Could a graphics card improve your pc's speed??

:confused: ok well installed a very basic graphics card 256mb ati radeon- and now it seems as if my pc generally is faster? (p.s. i only had integrated graphics prior)
 
Integrated graphics uses some of your RAM, so immediately you will have more free RAM available for other uses.

Also I believe it will alleviate some of the work done by your CPU. I may be wrong on that though.
