Hi everyone
bit long and I might run on abit but I hope there is enough in there for you THANX

I just formated my computer (like you do so often) and when I tryed to install my windows XP pro I got a message come up could not copy file MLANG.DAT then it gave me 3 options RETRY,CANCEL SETUP, or RESUME WITHOUT COPYING THE FILE. so I tryed resume a couple of times, took th disk out and cleaned it, and still didn't work

So I resumed with out copying the file, it came up with another warning that setup may not be able to resume with out this file or windows might not function properly, so I resumed and all was ok it set up and work, and the only thing I am having a problem with is windows media player 10.

I start playing my movie files and they are ok for a while then they start to crackle and make some funny noises then it stops playing.

I send the error report and get the crash anlaysis come up saying it could be a problem with morgan multi media which I followed the link to there site but could not find anything of much help found some stuff on media player 9 but nothing else. so I dont know if it is that file that I skiped on the O/S install or something else

Does anyone know if there is a way of copying the file off the disk and putting it in the right place (I have found it on the disk but don't know where to put it)

hope you can help

Download wmp10 again from the microsoft website. ReInstall your sound drivers.
The original problem was caused by a unclean/bad CD. IF you can get a copy of the file and put it where it needs to go then youl be sorted.

1. WMP10 is overrated
2. Check the cd itself for copyability
3. Potentially check the RAM

Agreed, it's much slower then WMP9.

I'd say try reinstalling also and make sure your drivers are all up to date. Although If it where myself I would not have just cleaned the CD but also the Drive also.

I once had a problem with a couple of games disks that gave similier file could not be found/read errors so I burnt them on another computer to another cd and read them just fine on the original machine so you might try copying your windows cd onto another CD (use a different computer for the burn if possible) and try again.

I never said it was good.
And I never said you sait it was :P :D

And WMP9 is much slower than WMP8 :P

Good call, check to see if another computer can read the disc :)

True but MP10 is really slow on my computer after starting it up it's about 20 seconds b4 I can start a song but with MP 9 It's instant so I figure somthing has to be wrong there.

I'm not sure if it's because I've got over 3000 songs in my library but still it's instant with media player 9.

Tiss funny how that is though eh? hehe I mean each update adds more and more which just seems to slow things down. You think it's just my machine?

Hehe one of my friends is on the WMP dev team @ MS ... i'll yell him for a bit :P

Nah, i found WMP9 slow (still runnin WMP8) ... of course going to WMP7 is folly as ive not found even a bogged-down-WMP10 to be slower than that hehe

oh, for some reason i find wmp10 quick to load despite its pointless features. the other two alternatives i use are winamp, and also wmp classic, (type in mplayer2 in run box). I dont like the way wmp comes with hardly any codecs, ie you have to install loads urself.

Well depending on what your definition of loaded is I suppose :-).. It's on my screen instantly just about but then just sits there for about 20 seconds almost in a frozen state as it reads the music library information and displaying it on the screen.
