Could the files already burnt to store on a DVD 5 disc damage over time

During DVD cloning process, it is very easy to notice that the DVD burner generates a loud processing sound. I am wondering if a DVD could be damaged or the files stored inside becomes imperfect from the original over time and such processes. Assume the original DVD is always kept nicely on DVD box.

How long they last is up for debate. Depends on the quality of disk you use and how well you keep it. Really years. If its something you really want to keep for years, every so often (every few years) just burn it to a new disk.

heard 50 to 100 yrs. Bottom line buy quality dvd or dual layers. I have many family pictures and have burned twice for example. Don't expect to loose both the same day.
Been a long time since ive even burned. just used backups to multiple drives.
