Could you ever go back to using a CRT Monitor?

...as the thread title reads really. Could you ever go back to using a CRT monitor? I've not used one personally in years with the PC, so I guess I couldn't (constant refresh rate would kill my eyes!!), but we only got an LCD TV just over a year ago

no i dont think i can go back to CRT, at my old high school they still use them :O which freaks me out. this is a school and they would rather have children slowly go blind than use normal LCD or LED monitors :P

I just used one not too long ago on an old computer I have and it wasn't too bad. I only used it for about 20 minutes though and I can bet that extended use would strain my virgin eyes.

If you have good CRT monitors then you can set the refresh rate higher than 75HZ. It won't feel the different from the LCD, only it is sooooo heavy that will broke your back when try to lift it up.

Yea, I only just replaced the CRT of ancient machine with a TFT panel this Christmas. I find it quite comfortable at 75Hz (might have been 80). The only thing I don't like is the abysmally low resolution... 1024x768 if I didn't want tons of flicker.

I hate cathode tubes! to heavy! lol
and no CRT I have ever seen supports the high-end 1080p that my LCD does...
A superior GPU means nothing if your don't have to proper display

I still use a CRT Sony strictly for photo editing with Photoshop, because once calibrated the color is so awesome--I just dont get the same results with an LCD..etc.

color is one thing and resolution is another. I promise you the right display hooked up the right way to the right GPU will run circles around any CRT any day. The same difference in watching the super bowl on a flat panel vs. LCD via HDMI on that beautiful Sunday. My color and resolution is so sharp it's incredible.

Trust me, do enough photographic work and the accurate color representation on a calibrated CRT is superb.. I'm not watching videos or playing games on it, I want true accurate color for photographs.

No argument I cam comply to that. As long as everyone else viewing your photos is using the same specifications and qualities as you are while rendering them. In that case most everyone today is using LCD 32-bit color.
I actually can relate with you there because as much as I hate to admit it, I did have great color qualities on my CRT years ago.
LCD seems more washed out or "bright"

cheers

I have been using CRT for ages and still using it on my old PC. A PC with a CRT monitor really looks like a machine of the ancient times, mostly the white colored ones.
