Counsel on new "all in one style" computers?

Interested in any counsel on the newer Sony type LT "all in one" style computer or the Imac same style computer. I use a lot of Word, do a lot of net surfing on the car forums, Excel, & E-mail. I have always used Windows XP and I am afraid that switching to the Leopard system might be challenging at best description, but the Sony does not appear to be very upgradeable as the Imac is. I have heard pretty bad comments regarding "Vista", but on the other hand, I don't feel like the extra expense of adding Windows XP as an addition to the Imac system. I am currently on dial-up but will be switching over to something quicker shortly. Any & all comments would be appreciated.
Yep, I'm a noob, but with only 1 post you guys knew that already, right?

Oops, my bad, forgot to mention that I really don't want a laptop, especially at the starting price of the Mac laptop= $2700 or $ 2800. Thanks for the input though.
 
Mac laptops start at early 1000 and who said you had to go for a mac if it was a laptop ?

So, what you want is a computer similar to an iMac ?
 
Oops, sorry, my bad again.
The Macbook that I like is $ 2700 without any upgrades. Are links allowed, such as to the Mac store and the Sony store?
