What does the error say when you try and uninstall it?

it says Error 1306. Another application has exclusive access to the file C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\counter-strike source client.gcf. Please shut down all other applications then click retry.

i click retry and it comes up with that error again so i click cancel and then it says Fatal error during installation.

Uninstall steam before you uninstall anything else. It is steam that has the exclusive acess to CSS, so uninstall steam and then CSS or HL2.

i unistalled it and reinstalled it and it does the same thing. it doesnt do it right away when i join a server cause i have to wait tell that game is over then when a new game starts like 30 seconds later the whole game shuts down. does anybody know why it is doing this.

The only thing that might do that I think would be your graphics card, however it meets the requirments.... do you have the latest drivers for it?

BTW- No need to post 3 "anybody?"'s in a row ;)

ya i know but i get impationt sometime. ya i think i do i got to www.ati.com and download the catalyst control center. but when ever my computer starts up or i try to go into catalyst it wont let me it comes up with a error. but i reformatted my computer and reinstalled windows. but is there any other drivers i am supposed to use or would work better.

You should only need the drivers from ATI.com, but if those dont work try the Omega drivers for ATI.
