Counter Strike: Source server problem

I can't seem to enter any server, after two bars in loading it wont go any further and then it says that if failed after 4 tries. what can i do? My card is an ati radeon xl 256mb and it's updated. I think it got something t do with steam but i dont know what to do?
 
When your in steam, does it say that the game is complete? i remember i had a similar problem when trying to play counter strike: CZ it loaded about half way and got stuck on the "precaching files". So check and make sure that its completly downloaded.

Also check and make sure that you dont have a firewall trying to block it.
 
my firewall is on but i have steam as an exception, I check a while, I even tried with the firewall off and nothing. oh and counter strike is 100% complete but half life isnt. is at 80%
 
OMFG!! I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!! For the past two days or so its been doing that on like 95% of the servers. I have no idea whats wrong. I already sent an email to steam support.
 
I have the exact same problem with like 35% of the servers I try to join... I just learned to put up with it :(
 
No, its gotta be somethin with steam because at the beginning of this week everything was fine. Did they release another patch?!?!? WTF IS UP! I NEED MY SOURCE FIX!

do you ahve hl2.exe as a exception? try disabling your firewall completly for 5 minties to try.

Disabling it for 5 minutes is an un-neccessary risk. He said he tried it without the firewall on, i dont see what difference leaving it off for 5 minutes would make.
