My Cpu alarm went off a few when my pc had been on over night this has never happened before but it is set to go off when the temp reaches 60C i have a zalman fan cooling the cpu with two 80mm system intakes and my psu has a 120mm fan also blowing into the case why is this happening?

Have you made any changes to your computer? Were you running any software overnight? Are your air intakes clear? How old is your computer? Do you ever run it with the cover off? Has it done this since, and under what conditions? And the last little one: has the enviroment the computer is in changed. My Laptop had serious overheating probems when I took it to a warmer climate.

I have recently changed the motherboard, want running any software overnight, air intakes are clear, most of the comp is new in the last two months except for the cpu, hd, ram and vga, have run it a couple of times with cover off, only happened yesterday so it hasnt done it yet, and the enviroment hasnt changed.

I highly suspect that the fan is going down. If it makes funny noises, it's a clear sign of it.

That, or it is slightly unbalanced on the cpu. Try to move it a bit back and forth to rebalance it and possibly make the thermal compound spread evenly on the surface. This happened to me once.

Make sure that the heatsink is touching the cpu completely (I found that mine wasnt on properly and then when i fixed it the temp went down about 35F)

Is one of the intake fans blowing air onto the CPU? If the fan is blowing onto the CPU fan, then the hot air from the CPU cant escape easily.
