Now is my cpu going to bottle neck my whole system from playing games like cod4 sc2 and stuff like that. im running only 1024x768 resolution. I cant find the socket for this mobo. The one i use now is a pentium 4 single core 2.8 ghz T_T with no hyper threading i beleive. I cant find a socket type but i imagine its socket 478.
Anyone know what my socket type is, and if so is it worth upgrading to these

Socket 478 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116027

LGA 775 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116099

What do you guys think?

I would save your money man until you can purchase a new system. What games are you going to be playing and what is the main use for your computer? Spending money on that old dell is only going to give you minimal performance gains and is not worth the money.

Mainly im building this cheap comp so i can play sc2. But since i got this half ass system i thought i might as well try some other games like cod4 l4d stuff like that. I mostly game and just internet stuff. This should run me fine intil i can get some money, im 14 and just getting $250 together at my b-day so i can future proof my system for future d3 sc2 play, (diablo 3 and starcraft 2) and blizzard is known for supporting a wide range of specs to play their games, so i think i should be fine, and i wouldnt mind spending 60 bucks to up my cpu to 3.4 if its necessary

If the cpu usage is around 100% it would suggest that that is a bottleneck. One thing you can do is lower the settings slightly in key area, like change the 8xAA to 4xAA, and you'll notice very little difference in quality but could help improve performance quite a lot.
