Intel i3 budget machine no over clocking
So what i3 to buy
i3 2100 sandy
2120 sandy
3220 ivy bridge

I'm guessing ivy bridge but how i look the i3 is set to a speed only overclocking makes it faster but that just means u need more cooling and just shorten the life of your pc
 
i3's, at least gen 2 and gen 3 (ivy and sandy) can not really overclock at all. You need at least an i5 for that.

that aside, get the ivybridge. Getting sandybridge now is not the best move.
