Ok i read somewhere that the recomended socket weight is 450g. Is this true?

And if i put seomething heavier (like the Zalman 9500 im thinking of) will my mobo bend?

Also i am in the market for a heatsink.

I want something ike the 9500 but that is lighter (i like how you can direct the airflow (with the centurion 590 im planning on getting, ill make it blow up or to the rear, depending which exhause fan is closer))

But im looking for something light!!

That's what Intel recommends, yes.

Your motherboard won't bend if it's screwed to your case securely, no.

I guess there's always a possibility, but it's unlikely. The Zalman comes with a pretty secure mounting system.

I've personally never heard of or experienced a motherboard breaking or a heatsink falling off because it's too heavy.

check out the height dimensions and the weight bias. if you have most of the weight closer to the base of the heatsink and not a tall unit, you should be fine. Don't get something that's tall and has a heavy fan on the top (if they even make any like that) and you shouldn't have to worry.
Also, don't go wild and get something that won't fit in your case. I wanted the coolermaster hyper 212, but it was too tall to fit in my case, so I had to compromise :(
