ok i have a new system wic h is corrently not working but will be up and running as soon as possible because of a windows error. but i just built a new system with:
Asus A8R-MVP
AMD 3800 X2
ATI x1800xt
seagate 300 gb barracuda
creative x-fi extrememusic
1gb ram(soon to 2gb)

so my question is wich cooler would be the overall best for my AMD 3800 x2. so i may overclock it to mabey 2.4-2.6Ghz?
1.Thermaltake Big Typhoon

6.Thermaltake sonic tower

7.Aerocool gt-1000

so far ive been thinking of getting the thermaltake silent tower 2, and the big typhoon
but the aerocool gt-1000 is gold plated so that caught my attention. and i have heard many good things about the zalman 9500, and the hyper 6 because someone said they got an AMD 3800 x2 to 2.7 Ghz which i HIGHLY doubt with the hyper 6. thx for replies

also the freezer 64 pro did just as good as the big typhoon which only did better by 1 degree in a review i read.

i'm getting the zalman 9500 so i would suggest that. and i like how it helps the airflow of the case.

Not unbelievable. They can overclock nicely, and I've gotten a 1.8Ghz Venice (which is a great OC core, but still) to 2.6 and change. It's even been known to go higher. I've also heard great thigns about the Hyper 6.

The 9500 is nice because of the fact that it blows directly into the exhaust fan. If you pair this up with Arctic silver 5 and your video card with the exhaust directly out of the case, you'll have a very cool case temperature. Just make sure you have enough intake fans.

dont get the second last and the third last. the aerocool gt-1000 is a really nice one but personally id prefer the thermaltake one:

that one looks really nice :)
btw get an auxillary fan for it, something temp controlled in my opinion.
link doesnt work. and the Freezer 64 Pro(third to last) is agreat HSF for its price. like i said earlier. it did just as good as the big typhoon, and did better than the 9500 in this review.

Zalman9 CNPS9500 LED

I know im new but i have had great results with the Zalman9 CNPS9500 LED. plus you get a great looking led to go along. and its not an insane piece of copper sticking out from ur mobo!!:)

Im thinking of getting a Thermalright heatsnik and attatching a nice 80mm fan to it, maybe a Panoflow, Nexus, or Coolermaster...

I just picked up a big typhoon and it is really nice. one word SILENT and it still pushes 54 cFM which is a lot. Keeps my OC'd Opteron at 27 idle and 38 under full load. Very nice i recommend that one.
