Cpu fan error...Here's why..

Man I feel like an idiot, I was so excited when I got the stuff to build my new pc that I completely forgot to install my CPU fan/heatsink.. Well I went to go power on for the first time, and after a few seconds it shut down..

I tried again bam, shut down even quicker.. I waited a few minutes while looking through my motherboard manual to make sure I wasn't missing anything, and then started it up again, Screen comes up and then I see "CPU fan error!" then bam it shuts down..

By this time I'm totally pissed..lol I fling open my case and there's my problem, I forgot to install it :( .. Do you think I could have damaged my CPU?? :confused:

I haven't tried to boot it up again yet since I got the fan/heatsink installed.. Wanted to see what you guys thought first..
 
You'll probably be okay. But also did you remember to use thermal paste? If you didn't then you might as well boot up.
 
Heh - I've forgotten to connect a SATA cable before or even turn the PSU on, but a HSF... :P
