CPU Fan is too Loud

I go into the BIOS and no matter what I do under POWER and set the fan to any speed or anything it won't do anything to the fan speed. Is there anyway to slow this fan down because it is screeming.

I HATE when my fan starts to screem. Luckily, I can easily fix it by sticking my finger in the blades.

I tried that and it does work as long as I'm down with my finger on the blade but as soon as I go back and start working on my computer the fan starts to scream again. Maybe a cheap weak fan might work.

Have you tried removing your fan and cleaning all the dust/dirt off of it?

If that doesn't work maybe try replacing it with another one from an old computer you have laying around(if available). Fans are pretty inexpensive, so if you have a little cash and it's still bothering you, buying a new one never hurts.

I found out that my 4 wire CPU fan was put on a 3 prong on my motherboard not giving me access to my BOIS setting for my fan speed so I move it to the CPU 4 prong on my motherboard and now I can change the fan speed and now it is quit and not driving me crazy.
