CPU fan keeps whirring up - Not overheating

Hello.

My fan on alienware m17x is making an adequate amount of noise but that's normal, however when I boot into a game it whirs up. Fairly certain its not overheating, because I have monitered that and its at 35 degrees celcius.

Processor is dual core 2.1ghz

Any help?

Oh I have opened up the laptop but I cant find the cpu. Got a little stuck and reassembled it.

Searched loads of stuff on google, tried changing fan speed, but alienware m17x R1 doesn't allow you to do that. Getting a bit tired so I thought I'd post.

Found it.

HWinfo is a software. You need to click sensors, then the fan icon. 1 core is 40 the other 48 so im going to push it, its old.
 
id suggest playing games etc and finding out how hot it actually reaches. If its old its a good possibility if you haven't already to clean out the laptop with a can of compressed air to remove all dust and debris, mainly from the heat sink and fan. This might help reduce the noise.

Download core temp and monitor the temps, Laptops generally do produce quite a bit of noise when gaming.
 
Location of CPU fan

Whereabouts is the location of the CPU fan?

I took the Ram, Hard drive everything out, after earthing myself. Unscrewed all the screws and still couldn't find my CPU.
 
Right how do you take the keyboard off. I literally tried ripping it off, suffice to say it won't properly stick again, but it still works. The plastic top part that is. This is really grinding my bones. Three days faffing to find the processor, underclock or regulate fans to no avail. Soon I'll have to pay ridiculous fees in the computer store.
 
That's not the same model, don't know if there is anything with the same model. Might be custom built. Am I along the right lines to take the top bit off?
Still well stuck though, didn't come easy. Might not be designed to come off.
People have tried updating the bios but it's pre Dell so I can't find it and there's only one image like the casing, mine has.
Might just rip the blighter apart. There's the main part that originates from the front and around the keyboard. There's another from the back and I think it will lift the keyboard out but the screens in the way.
It will just be going to the computer shop anyway but I'm not going the whole hog otherwise it might be a new laptop.

Just tried prying the top part. Doesn't work. Might be attached somehow to the screen hinge. Does allow you to pry the corners of the keyboard however there was metal underneath so I couldn't find a processor there. Or could I?
 
Right it is not the keyboard. Just ripped that out, suffice to say it goes back in. So the fan is on the underside which I could see (well the processor), almost in the middle.
 
The fan on the underside is pretty much on top of the heatsink. There isn't any need to take the laptop apart unless you decide to change the thermal paste. But I advise for now to clean out the fan and heatsink on the laptop. Buy a can of compressed air and spray into the vents and it will blow out all the dust. There will be a grill on the side where the heatsink expels the hot air. Spray in there and on the fan directly.
