CPU fan speed

My AMD cpu fan runs in the mid to low 800's rpm. Is that low? Where show a cpu fan be at?

i dont know if im reading speedfan right or not im running at around 2700 rpm

yea me neither lol, but in the bois it says that it is in the 800's. I also get a warning some times when i boot up that the fan is low, but the fan seems to b functioning normally. Im at about 48C idle (my room is a little warm).

What size fan? For an 80mm that is extremely slow, for a 120mm it's going about half as fast as it should be(1600 RPM is average for a 120mm).

AMD has a "cool n' quiet" setup on newer PCs where the CPU fan runs at low speeds until the CPU heats up under load. A friend of mine has one of these. At powerup and POST it runs full speed, and then it slows down and it's as silent as a ghost after XP is loaded. If your PC is new-ish then there's a good chance this is what's happening.
